Critical National Information Infrastructure Workshop
43 participants encompassing Brunei Darussalam’s Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII) attended a three-day cybersecurity workshop this week, facilitated by the national cybersecurity agency Cyber Security Brunei (CSB). The attendees represented various CNII sectors including info-communications, energy, healthcare, banking & finance, defense, security, emergency response services, and aviation.
The workshop was a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and was conducted by ITU’s partner Welchman Keen, as part of their pledge to ITU’s Partner2Connect initiative. It aims to improve technical capability and efficiency as well as to provide the latest developments in cyber security to agencies that are responsible for Critical National Information Infrastructure.
The workshop began with an introduction to Critical National Information Infrastructure protection, with a look at the security of various sectors that are critical for a country’s local economy and infrastructure development. The second day covered risk management strategy and supply chain security, while the final day touched on mobile device security and concluded with security awareness.
